Using
From the leaves it can be prepared purees, soups or cooked and served as attachment. Kale can be added to salads or eaten raw. Kale freezes well and tastes sweeter and more flavourful after being exposed to a frost. Curly kale varieties are usually preferred for chips.

Botanical description and occurrence:
Cale cultivar ´Rednex´ is mid late variety for fresh market, with height 40-50 cm, dark purple-blue, blistered and strongly curled leaves. It is tolerant to temperatures above -18°C. While this type of kale is edible, it also crosses over to being an ornamental plant.
Why to have the plant in your garden:
Among ornamental purpose it is high source of health promoting substances (vitamin C, carotenoids, flavonoids or glucosinolates) and can be harvested year-round.
