Botanical description and occurrence:
‘Sopel Lodu’ is a late cultivar of radish, the roots are mature after about 50-60 days from sowing. Its most distinctive feature is the shape and color of the roots ‒ they are very long (up to 15 cm), slightly tapered towards the end, with skin and flesh of pure white color. The root skin is smooth, not ribbed, without discoloration at the end, however, root head may be green. Reach in glucosinolates and antioxidants, very pungent in taste. Roots show no tendency to pithiness and can be stored until spring.
Why to have the plant in your garden:
Radish ’Sopel Lodu‘ is very popular, mainly because of unusual, very original shape and color of the roots. It can be decorative component of colored composition of vegetables, nicely presented with other cultivars of radish, both the red and yellow. Excellent pungent taste of the roots, which provide also many health benefits.
